Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This individual operates our Kluge EHD Auto Platen Press, and the Brausse Platen Press in the completion of postpress operations, including foiling, embossing, perforating, scoring, and die cutting of printed pieces.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Thoroughly read and understand the job ticket, recognizing and reporting any mistakes or discrepancies Determine the prioritization of running jobs and ensures materials are available Perform a full range of makeready and running on machine Distribute & communicate the jobs run to the next operation on the job ticket, giving immediate attention to jobs with short deadlines Inspect operation as necessary to ensure that quality and registration are maintained Ensure that there are no doubles or errors on sheets, remove or mark clearly any makeready, spoiled, or start up sheets Load and unload press Operate transport equipment to move skids of paper in and out of work area Alert Supervisor of potential problems with equipment or work Evaluate assigned workload and progress throughout the day
  • informing the Scheduler/Supervisor if a problem exists with needing more work or more time due to unexpected conditions Monitor quality throughout the entire run Demonstrate responsibility for the quality and quantity of the work produced Bring to the attention of the Supervisor or designate jobs that do not or may not meet quality standards
  • noting those jobs that will not meet scheduling requirements because of inferior, defective, or inadequate materials, equipment failure, or inaccurate job planning or scheduling Train other employees as needed.
Understands and follows all company and department safety rules
REQUIREMENTS
A self-motivated, team player who has the ability to learn new tasks quickly while maintaining a high production rate and quality standards Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills Machine operation experience
  • to include setting up, running, troubleshooting and quality control Ability to work under minimal supervision as well as understand written and verbal instructions and then carry out instructions
SCHEDULE
Full-time, Hourly, Monday
  • Friday 6:00am
  • 2:00pm or Full-time, Hourly, Monday
  • Thursday 2:00pm
  • 12:00am
STARTING WAGE
This is an hourly position and beginning wage will be in line with experience.
