Earn up to $2,000.00! We're searching for a skilled Flexographic Printing Press Operator to join our team! If you're passionate about print and have a knack for operating complex machinery, this is your chance to shine. We want a self-motivated Flexo Press Operator at our Sun Prairie facility, minutes from Madison, WI. The Flexo Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining flexographic printing equipment to produce high-quality printed products according to customer specifications and production requirements. The Press Operator monitors print quality throughout the production process, makes necessary adjustments, troubleshoots equipment issues, and ensures jobs are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently. 1stShift :
Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break) 2ndShift:
4-10/hour work days: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am (30-minute unpaid break) $1.50/hour shift premiumWHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?
Set up and operate flexographic printing presses according to job specifications, production orders, and approved samples. Review job tickets, specifications, artwork, and samples before beginning production to ensure all requirements are understood. Install and properly position printing plates, cylinders, rolls, inks, and other required press components. Set and adjust registration, impression, ink levels, tension, speed, and other press settings as necessary. Perform startup inspections and obtain required approval or sign-off before beginning full production. Continuously monitor print quality throughout the run, including color, registration, print clarity, placement, and overall appearance. Compare finished product to approved samples and job specifications to ensure quality standards are maintained. Identify print defects or production problems and make appropriate press adjustments to correct them. Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of press equipment. Maintain an organized and clean work area and ensure tools, materials, inks, and supplies are properly stored. Follow established procedures for handling inks, solvents, chemicals, and other printing materials. Meet established production, quality, and efficiency expectations. Communicate job status, equipment issues, quality concerns, and other relevant information to supervisors and employees on subsequent shifts. Follow all company safety procedures, including required personal protective equipment and machine safety requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. QualificationsEMPLOYEES WHO EXCEL IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES
Experience setting up and operating flexographic printing equipment strongly preferred. Ability to read and understand production orders, job specifications, measurements, and approved samples. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to identify printing defects and make adjustments to maintain print quality. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to distinguish colors and identify variations in print quality. Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with supervisors and team members. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic math skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Printing industry experience in a manufacturing environment.ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Stamina & Mobility:
Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8-12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.Weight Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.Manual Dexterity:
Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.Range of Motion:
Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.Sensory/Vision:
Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.Work Environment:
