Assembly Technician Job Description This Assembly Technician role supports hands-on manufacturing operations in Childersburg, AL. Responsibilities Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and mechanical systems according to work instructions, blueprints, schematics, and production standards. Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and correctly, including impact tools and precision measuring instruments such as tape measures. Perform visual inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to ensure they meet quality and functionality requirements. Carry out final fit, torque, and testing procedures to verify proper operation of assemblies. Work on your feet in a fast-paced production or assembly environment, maintaining a steady workflow throughout the shift. Follow written and verbal instructions accurately to complete assigned tasks and meet production schedules. Support daily production goals by maintaining productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety requirements. Apply basic knowledge of torque specifications and fastener types when assembling and securing components. Assist with electrical assembly tasks such as basic wiring and control panel assembly, as required by the production process. Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area in alignment with manufacturing and continuous improvement practices. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly or manufacturing. Proven ability to work with hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively. Experience assembling mechanical systems and subassemblies using blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Ability to perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure proper fit and function. Basic knowledge of torque specifications and different fastener types. Comfort working on your feet in a production or assembly environment. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy and attention to detail. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in using tape measures and precision measuring instruments. Comfort with electrical and mechanical assembly tasks, including basic electrical wiring. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with pneumatics and related components. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices. Background in electrical assembly, including control panel work and electrical wiring. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for mechanical and electrical assemblies. Experience using impact tools and other production-related power tools. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing facility in Childersburg, AL, working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production and assembly environment. You will primarily work Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., spending most of the day on your feet while assembling mechanical and electrical components. The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, impact tools, and precision measuring instruments such as tape measures, as well as reading blueprints and schematics. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to production standards, and continuous improvement, with a focus on maintaining an organized and efficient workspace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Childersburg, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
