Assembler/Polisher Job Description We are seeking a skilled Assembler/Polisher to join our team. This role involves assembling and polishing components according to specified instructions and ensuring that all finished products meet the required specifications. Responsibilities Review work orders, drawings, specifications, or instructions to determine necessary materials, procedures, and sequence of operations. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on metal stock. Verify dimensions and assembly alignment are correct. Operate mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. Ensure finished work conforms to specifications. Fit and assemble finished parts, making minor modifications as needed. Set up and operate hand drills to drill/tap holes in molds for venting. Position parts and remove surface defects with palm sanders, sandpaper, files, or steel wool. Inspect finished molds for smoothness, contour, conformity, and defects. Fit parts together in preassembly to ensure dimensions are accurate. Essential Skills Experience with thermoforming processes and inspection. Ability to set up machines and control processes. Proficiency in polishing and assembly. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, technical schematics, and other drawings. Solid reading and mathematical skills. Experience operating welding equipment. Knowledge of using precision measuring and marking devices such as rulers, micrometers, calipers, and scribes. The first shift hours are from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of incremental and Saturday overtime as necessary. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntley, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
