Job Description

  • Job Title: Assembler / Production Technician
  • Job Description
  • This role focuses on assembling and building wooden shipping carts used to transport large cooling systems for dairy operations in hot climates.

You will help ensure these systems are packaged and prepared to exact specifications so they arrive safely and function reliably for international customers. The position combines hands-on assembly, woodworking, and shipping preparation in a detail-oriented production environment.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Assemble and build wooden shipping carts used to transport large cooling systems, following detailed specifications and instructions.

+ Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to cut, fasten, and finish wooden components for shipping carts.

+ Interpret and work from blueprints and assembly documentation to ensure products meet exact dimensional and structural requirements.

+ Prepare products for packaging, ensuring all components are properly secured and protected for international shipping.

+ Perform shipping and receiving tasks related to larger pieces, including staging, labeling, and preparing items for outbound freight.

+ Inspect completed carts and packaged systems for accuracy, quality, and adherence to strict detail and specification standards.

+ Collaborate with team members in the production area to coordinate workflow and meet daily and weekly output goals.

+ Communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors about progress, issues, and improvement ideas in the assembly and shipping process.

+ Demonstrate self-initiative by identifying tasks that need to be done and taking action without waiting for direction.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety guidelines for woodworking, tools, and shipping operations.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Hands-on assembly experience, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment.

+ Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for woodworking and assembly tasks.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints or assembly drawings to follow detailed specifications.

+ Experience with packaging and shipping & receiving, specifically handling and preparing larger pieces for shipment.

+ Woodworking skills, including measuring, cutting, and assembling wood components accurately.

+ Strong attention to detail to ensure products and shipping carts meet exact specifications, especially for international shipments.

+ Ability to work effectively on a team and collaborate with others in a production setting.

+ Demonstrated self-initiative, taking action and identifying tasks without needing constant direction.

+ Clear and reliable communication skills for coordinating work and reporting issues.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience shipping larger pieces or equipment, particularly for international customers, is highly beneficial.

+ Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with defined daily schedules.

+ Ability to adapt to evolving processes and contribute ideas for improving assembly and shipping efficiency.

  • This is a full-time role in a hands-on production environment, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.

m. to 3:30 p.m. You will primarily work in a shop or warehouse setting using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment to build and prepare shipping carts. The work involves standing, moving materials, and handling larger pieces as part of the assembly and shipping process. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and precision to ensure products are prepared correctly for international shipment.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
