Cabinet Assembler Northridge, CA Full time - Temp to hire Monday through Friday - 7am to 4pm $25hr to $35hr depending on experience. Summary:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Assembler to join our production team. The Cabinet Assembler is responsible for accurately assembling custom cabinetry according to shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on woodworking or cabinet assembly experience, understands cabinet construction and hardware installation, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can identify and resolve assembly issues efficiently while maintaining production schedules.
Responsibilities:
Review shop drawings, floor plans, and work orders at the beginning of each shift to understand the day's assembly requirements, priorities, and sequencing. Sort, stage, and verify all cabinet components, hardware, and materials required for each assembly before beginning work. Assemble full-overlay cabinet boxes, including dadoing, gluing, fastening, and squaring cabinet carcasses to specified dimensions. Assemble face-frame cabinets, accurately fitting and attaching face frames to carcasses while maintaining proper reveals and alignment. Install drawer slides, hinges, pulls, door hardware, and other specified cabinet hardware according to drawings and manufacturer specifications. Fit and hang cabinet doors and drawer fronts, making necessary adjustments for proper alignment, clearances, and smooth operation. Inspect components and finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and proper fit throughout the assembly process. Identify fit, dimensional, or alignment issues and use sound problem-solving skills to resolve them without unnecessarily delaying production. Escalate issues that cannot be resolved independently to the Shop Manager. Inspect completed units for squareness, surface quality, hardware installation, alignment, and proper function before releasing them from the assembly station. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift. Complete end-of-shift cleanup and properly store tools, equipment, and materials. Promptly report material shortages, damaged components, missing hardware, or discrepancies between drawings and materials to the Shop Manager. Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with the Shop Manager and fellow shop personnel. Report to work on time and provide advance notice whenever an absence is necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in cabinet assembly, custom woodworking, millwork, finish carpentry, or a related field preferred. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cabinet plans, measurements, and work orders. Working knowledge of cabinet construction, including full-overlay and face-frame cabinetry. Experience installing cabinet hardware such as hinges, drawer slides, pulls, and door hardware. Strong understanding of measurements, alignment, reveals, clearances, and squareness. Ability to use common woodworking and assembly tools safely and effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team. Ability to maintain consistent production quality while meeting scheduled deadlines. Dependable, punctual, and professional work habits. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of a cabinet assembly position, including standing for extended periods and lifting, positioning, and handling cabinet components and materials.
