Job Description

Job Title:
Cable Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling flexible and semi-rigid cable assemblies in a small, specialized manufacturing environment. Working from customer-supplied drawings, you will build high-quality cable assemblies that meet precise specifications, using soldering, hand tools, and inspection equipment. You will work under minimal supervision and contribute directly to products that support the rapidly evolving electronics industry. Responsibilities Prepare cables for assembly according to customer drawings and work instructions. Solder cable assemblies using appropriate tools, materials, and techniques to ensure strong, reliable connections. Chamfer cable assemblies to meet required specifications and quality standards. Label cable assemblies accurately and clearly for identification and traceability. Apply heat shrink to cable assemblies to protect and secure connections. Crimp ferrules onto cable assemblies using hand tools and fixtures. Cut and trim Teflon and other materials to precise measurements. Use magnifiers, microscopes, and small hand tools to assemble and inspect extremely small parts. Follow production, manufacturing, and quality procedures consistently to maintain high standards. Complete special projects and additional assembly tasks as requested by leadership. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in compliance with cleanroom and company standards. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support production goals. Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of previous soldering experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment. Previous experience assembling small parts with strong attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and customer-supplied drawings. Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, and measure accurately with a ruler. Basic written and verbal communication skills in English to follow instructions and document work. Manual dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive, detailed tasks that require sustained focus. Basic computer skills to learn and use company technologies, software, and applications. Experience using hand tools in an assembly or manufacturing setting. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while maintaining quality and productivity. Ability to meet requirements associated with working on ITAR-controlled products. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to use digital calipers for precise measurement and inspection. Experience working with magnifiers, microscopes, and other inspection tools for small components. Strong manual dexterity beyond the minimum requirements, particularly for extremely small parts. Willingness to work overtime when required to support production schedules. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team player in a small group environment. Comfort with light lifting as part of daily tasks in a manufacturing setting. Prior experience in cable assembly, electronics assembly, or similar manufacturing roles. Familiarity with cleanroom practices and procedures. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based at a small manufacturing site in Santa Rosa with a team of around 30 people. The atmosphere is focused and production-oriented, and employees tend to work independently while still collaborating as needed. Work takes place in a cleanroom environment, where you will assemble extremely small parts at your own workstation. You will regularly use magnifiers, microscopes, digital calipers, and small hand tools to perform detailed assembly and inspection tasks. The role involves repetitive, fine-motor work and light lifting, following established production and quality procedures. Standard hours follow a typical manufacturing schedule, with the possibility of overtime when required by production demands. Cleanroom protocols and appropriate attire or protective gear apply in the work area to maintain product quality and cleanliness. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Rosa, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
