  • Full-time Burt Process Equipment has an immediate opening for a Plastic Fabricator!
This is a full time permanent position. If you have plastic fabrication/plastic welding, or stainless steel fabrication experience, this could be your next career!
Must have the following skills/experience:
  • Blueprint reading
  • Carpentry experience, and use of various carpentry tools (routers, saws, drills, sanders, etc.)
  • Skilled in measuring in 16th, 8ths, and 32nds, and using measuring tape and rulers
  • Ability to do math problems using fractions and decimals.
The Plastic Fabricator is responsible for building tanks and equipment for neutralizing and moving industrial waste water, purifying water for: industrial, pharmaceutical, educational, and municipal uses and equipment for the collection and use of ground and rain water.
Essential Functions:
Ability to decipher blueprints or other related documents for tank/ water treatment and fluid handling equipment assembly layout. Verifying dimensions using measuring instruments (tape measures, rulers, framing and t squares, etc.) for layouts. Determine the different types of power tools for cutting and shaping plastic sheet/pipe to specific sizes and shapes according to drawings/blue prints (table saws, jig saws, band saws, routers, drills, sanders, etc.) Fuse/weld plastic sheets and pipe by using multiple techniques (hot air welding, extrusion welding, butt and socket machine welding, etc.) Independently assemble tank and associated equipment/components by utilizing blueprints. Ability to safely and effectively utilize hand welding tools, welding machines, power tools, hand tools, and fork lifts/scissor lifts.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma (required) 2 years of experience in related field Welding certificate for plastics and steel (preferred) Knowledge of welding, plastics, steel and custom fabrication Knowledge in mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical drawings and welding General knowledge of equipment safety and operation (preferably Osha 10, LOTO, Confined space, fall protection, CPR, Forklift, etc) Familiar with fabricating equipment and machinery
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50lbs unaided Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to bend and reach Must be able to travel at least 5% of the time
