Assembler Job Description The Assembler builds high-quality electronic products by following engineering drawings and specifications, using a variety of soldering tools, hand tools, and basic manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on assembling subassemblies and final assemblies, ensuring components are correctly positioned, securely joined, and completed to precise standards in a clean, safe, and organized work area. Responsibilities Assemble products according to engineering specifications and drawings using the tools and equipment provided. Use soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to perform soldering and assembly tasks. Assemble parts and perform tasks such as wire stripping, crimping, and sub-assembly and final assembly of electronic assemblies. Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work area at all times. Position and align parts in specified relationships using fixtures or other holding devices. Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, housings, and cans. Join or secure parts in place by crimping, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, press fitting, or performing similar operations. Mix epoxy and other chemicals in accordance with instructions and safety guidelines. Follow written and verbal directions accurately to complete assembly tasks. Use basic manufacturing equipment, tools, and gauges, such as multimeters and torque and force gauges, to verify assembly quality and performance. Perform simple math, such as addition and subtraction, to interpret dimensions and measurements during assembly. Collaborate with team members and work independently as needed to meet production goals. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or completion of a technical certificate program. High school diploma or equivalent. Hands-on soldering experience, including use of soldering irons and solder pots. Experience using hand tools for assembly and mechanical tasks. Ability to follow detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and written instructions. Capability to perform simple math, including basic addition and subtraction for dimensions and measurements. Experience using basic manufacturing equipment, tools, and gauges such as multimeters, torque gauges, and force gauges. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively on a team and independently. Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to understand instructions and document work. High level of motivation and drive to produce quality work. Eligibility to obtain any required Export Authorization, as applicable to the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as an assembler in defense manufacturing or aerospace environments. Technical certificate in a related field. Demonstrated ability to follow directions accurately and consistently. Comfort working with epoxies and other chemicals in a production setting. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing and assembly environment focused on electronic products. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wallingford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
