Job Title:
Door Assembler Job Description We are seeking a skilled Door Assembler to join our team in a shop environment. You will be responsible for assembling exterior door systems, installing, adjusting, and repairing door units, frames, hinges, locks, thresholds, and weatherstripping. Your role involves utilizing hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete projects according to quality standards. Responsibilities Install, adjust, and repair door units, frames, hinges, locks, thresholds, and weatherstripping. Utilize hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete projects according to quality standards. Inspect completed work to verify functionality, appearance, and customer specifications. Load, unload, lift, and transport door systems and materials as needed throughout the workday. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety procedures. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete installations and production schedules on time. Essential Skills Proficiency in carpentry, including trim work and door installation. Ability to read blueprints and work orders accurately. Experience with hand and power tools. Skilled in door hardware installation and adjustment. Knowledge in material handling and safe lifting practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in carpentry, trim carpentry, millwork, door installation, window installation, or related construction trades. Ability to accurately read tape measures and perform basic math calculations. Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. Reliable transportation and strong attendance record. Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 5:00pm. During busy times, especially at the end of April, the expected hours are from 6:00am to 5:00pm. The attire is casual with jeans and a t-shirt, and gloves and safety glasses are provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnston, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
