Enclosure Shop Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling metal generator enclosures in an industrial shop environment, either in the main enclosure shop where the structures are built or in the finish department where final assembly and detailing are completed. You will work with your hands every day, using a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform assigned tasks and help ensure each enclosure meets quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Assemble metal generator enclosures in the enclosure shop using hand tools and power tools according to work instructions and drawings. Perform final assembly and finishing work on completed enclosures in the finish department, including installing components and adding final touches. Read and interpret basic blueprints or layout instructions to support accurate fabrication and assembly. Support fabrication and production activities by measuring, cutting, fitting, and securing materials as needed. Inspect work during and after assembly to ensure quality, fit, and proper function of components. Use carpentry, construction, or fabrication techniques to assist with building and repairing enclosure components. Handle materials and equipment safely in both indoor and outdoor industrial areas. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, and other required protective equipment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete daily assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule. Maintain a clean and organized work area and care for tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition. Essential Skills Hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction, fabrication, or similar environment. Ability to perform basic assembly work, including measuring, cutting, fitting, and fastening materials. Familiarity with carpentry, construction, concrete work, landscaping, metal working, or fabrication as transferable skills. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, or work instructions. Comfort working in an industrial environment, both indoors and outdoors. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toe footwear. Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and using tools throughout the shift. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in fabrication, assembly, or production environments. Experience in carpentry, construction, concrete, landscaping, or metal working. Experience with repair or maintenance tasks involving tools and mechanical components. Ability to support multiple stages of the production process, from initial fabrication to final assembly. Willingness to be assigned to either the finish department or enclosure shop based on skills and operational needs. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
