Job Description
We're looking for a motivated Fabrication Technician to join our Operations team in Ball Ground, GA. This entry-level role is a great opportunity to start or grow a career in metal fabrication while learning from experienced technicians. You'll play a key part in manufacturing metal trellises, canopies, and structural components by assisting in cutting, measuring, assembling, and preparing materials. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience using fabrication tools, reading blueprints, and applying quality control standards. With strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, you'll contribute to projects that showcase craftsmanship and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting higher-level fabricators in assembling trellises, canopies, and other structures. Reading and following basic blueprints, shop drawings, and diagrams. Measuring and cutting materials (aluminum, steel, plastic) with accuracy. Safely operating power tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and sanders. Preparing and staging materials for welding and final assembly. Performing quality inspections and reporting fabrication errors or defects. Maintaining organized inventory of raw materials and fabricated components. Following all safety guidelines, wearing PPE, and adhering to OSHA standards. Supporting a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic blueprint reading and ability to follow schematic drawings. Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate measurements. Familiarity with fabrication hand tools such as saws, drills, grinders, etc. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and adapt to new fabrication techniques. Previous fabrication, construction, or manufacturing experience preferred. Familiarity with welding processes (MIG/TIG) a plus. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices a plus.
