Job Description

Solid Surface Fabricator Job Description Position Summary:
The Solid Surface Fabricator will be responsible for transforming raw solid surface materials into high-quality finished products such as countertops, tabletops, vanities, and other custom installations. The ideal candidate's expertise in fabricating, shaping, and finishing solid surfaces will contribute to creating visually appealing and durable products for our clients. Essential Functions (Other duties as assigned): Manufactures and fabricates from various manufacturers. Reviews project specifications, blueprints, or drawings to determine the required dimensions and specifications of the solid surface products. Selects appropriate solid surface materials and prepares them for fabrication by cutting, shaping, and sanding. Utilizes a variety of tools and machinery to fabricate solid surface materials, including but not limited to cutting saws, routers, grinders, and sanders. Assembles solid surface components using bonding agents, adhesives, and mechanical fasteners. Performs finishing tasks such as sanding, buffing, and polishing to achieve a smooth and uniform surface on the fabricated solid surfaces. Conducts thorough inspections of finished products to ensure they meet specifications, standards, and customer requirements. Identifies any defects or imperfections and takes corrective measures to achieve the desired result. Maintains and operates fabrication equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition; this includes performing routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery. Reads and interprets work orders to ensure accuracy regarding customer requests. Cuts sinkholes, backsplashes, etc., to match exact specifications in job notes/drawings. Uses job notes to determine plan for miters, edges, etc. Always adheres to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Complies with relevant regulations and industry standards related to solid surface fabrication, including proper handling and disposal of materials. Collaborates effectively with team members, including designers, project managers, and installers, to ensure seamless coordination throughout the fabrication process.
Education and Required Skills:
High School diploma or GED Experience in cabinet manufacturing preferred Proficiency in using a range of tools and equipment for solid surface fabrication. Knowledge of fabrication techniques, including cutting, shaping, bonding, and finishing. Familiarity with specific solid surface materials and their properties. Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications. Display a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions from manufacturing supervisor and team leaders.
Working Condition:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noise levels consistent with a mill work factory environment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be required.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
