Assembly technician will follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, safety procedures and work with the entire manufacturing team to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This dual role also requires performing daily operations in the Shipping/Receiving department. Ratio of work between Assembly and Shipping/Receiving will vary based on business needs. Working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly of fiber laser cutting machines and subassemblies utilizing drawings, schematics, process documentation, work instructions and/or verbal instructions. Receiving, unloading and unpacking material needed for the assembly. Preparation of tools, fixtures, and documentation needed for the assembly run. In-process testing, final testing and recording test data as specified in work instructions and/or inspection test plans. Performing basic parts and subassembly transactions using SAP ERP system and other applicable computer software interface(s) to record assembly steps completed. Filling out and maintaining documentation related to machine assembly (electronic and/or hard copies). Following the safety guidelines and recommendations established by the company and the manufacturing department. Participating in projects and continuous improvement activities. Maintaining production floor and workstation cleanliness and organization, as well as preventive maintenance of tools and any other applicable instrumentation used in production and testing. Completion of assembly tasks in timely manner and with acceptable quality. Ability to develop productive and collaborative working relationship with all team members. Flexibility and willingness to cross train on different functions and/or product families. Effectively and efficiently pick and package required orders for daily shipments. Receive replenishment shipments including verifying accuracy between goods receipt and purchase order. Verify stock and inventory levels, participate in physical inventories as needed. Maintain production standards while minimizing errors. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS
Read, write and speak English fluently. High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred but not required. Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing assembly environment. Machine building or machine service experience preferred. Ability to read, comprehend and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings and blueprints. Ability to use hand tools and powered tools such are wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, drills, pneumatic tools, etc. Ability to use fixtures and other applicable manufacturing aids in assembly process. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of basic technology terms and mechanical / electrical interactions of sub-systems within a system. Some traveling (domestic or international) may be required for training purposes.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks. Good color acumen and color vision. Ability to stand, kneel, bend or reach frequently during the duration of the work shift. Ability to lift 50 lbs.NOTE:
