Job Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to fabricate metal components accurately. Operate and maintain shop tools such as power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and sheet metal fabrication equipment. Perform

MIG, TIG, FCAW

(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and welding techniques according to AWS standards. Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exact specifications. Execute mechanical fabrication tasks including duct work assembly, pipe threading, rigging, and sheet metal fabrication. Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings for assembly and fabrication projects. Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts and rigging equipment as needed for material handling. Requirements and Experience Proven shop fabrication experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and mechanical assembly. Construction site experience preferred, with familiarity in construction processes and safety standards. Skilled in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting aligned with AWS or ASME codes & standards. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; strong mechanical knowledge essential. Experience operating shop machinery including press brake machines, machining tools, soldering equipment, and pipe threading tools. Familiarity with construction safety practices including crane operation, rigging, forklift operation, and working within manufacturing environments. Basic math skills for shop math calculations; ability to measure precisely using calipers and micrometers.

Required:

Proven, hands-on experience with hydraulic systems (installation, repair, and maintenance) is a must.

Experience:

Prior professional experience in custom fabrication, construction, welding, auto body, or a similar trade is essential. You know your way around a shop!

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in using a variety of shop tools, including hand tools, power tools, saws, grinders, and drill presses.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks required for fabrication and repair work.
