About the Role As a Metal Fabrication Technician, you will play a vital role in constructing high-quality industrial components by operating advanced welding and manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for transforming raw materials into precision-engineered parts, ensuring that every weldment meets rigorous structural and safety standards to support mission-critical infrastructure. Responsibilities Execute precise welds on carbon and stainless steel in flat, vertical, and overhead positions to maintain structural integrity. Configure welding parameters, including current, gas flow, and wire feed, to achieve optimal penetration and finish. Utilize overhead cranes and specialized rigging to maneuver heavy components safely and efficiently. Perform metal cutting, forming, and assembly using torches, hand tools, and pneumatic equipment. Interpret technical blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication of subassemblies. Maintain a high-standard, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with industrial safety regulations. Collaborate across production lines to meet manufacturing deadlines and quality benchmarks. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent. Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) welding processes on various metal gauges. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong mathematical aptitude for measuring, calculating, and unit conversion. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity. Preferred Skills 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Formal vocational training or industry-recognized welding certification. Experience with sheet metal fabrication techniques, including shearing, punching, and forming. Proven ability to work effectively within a team-oriented production setting.
