Job Description
To prepare and package finished goods for accurate and timely shipping
- Follow proper procedures for packaging mobility scooters and power lift recliners, wrapping and/or boxing loose components, and selecting appropriate boxes, trays, and suspension for each product and securing them with plastic banding straps, micro-foam bags, and foam inserts
- Ensure all instructions and loose components are secured to the product
- Scan Matrix ID with barcode scanner to ensure all units are processed accurately in Oracle
- Print and apply packaging label to mobility scooters and power lift recliners
- Use powered hoist to place mobility scooters into boxes
- Promptly communicate barcode, packaging and banding machine issues to management
- Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents or injuries are promptly reported to management
- Complete the annual CTPAT Security Training
- Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
- Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
- Assist with organization and cleaning of work area, keeping aisles and walkways clear at all times
- Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
- Must be a friendly team player, detail-oriented, and honest Must have the ability to:
- Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
- Read and comprehend work instructions
- Be cross trained for multiple jobs within assigned work areas
- Operate touch-screen computer monitors and learn the Matrix/ProductionWare system and any other production software as required
- Work under general supervision and direction from a Team Leader, Supervisor, and/or Manager
- Rely on experience and judgment to accomplish daily goals
- Operate a powered hoist
- Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs.
- Stand/bend/kneel Must have:
- Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
- A willingness to learn and/or adapt to new work methods
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic working knowledge of Oracle and Matrix/ProductionWare systems preferred
- Basic computer skills preferred
- No experience required
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- At least 1 year of packaging experience preferred
- At least 1 year of experience using an RF Scanner, barcode scanner, lift assist and pneumatic stapler preferred
- Current or previous successful employment experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
