A Production Fabricator or Assembler constructs and assembles a wide range of products, such as engines, computers, aircraft, ships, boats, toys, electronic devices, and control panels, as well as the individual parts that make up these products.
The Manufacturing Technician - Test 1 is responsible for performing testing and verification activities on cable assemblies, sub-assemblies, and electronic components in accordance with established procedures, engineering instructions, and quality requirements. This position supports manufacturing operations by executing standardized testing processes, documenting results, identifying non-conformances, and escalating issues as needed. To excel in this role, you must be able to communicate clearly, follow detailed instructions, and work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to: Perform testing of cable assemblies, sub-assemblies, circuit boards, and related products in accordance with approved test procedures and engineering instructions. Operate test equipment and systems to verify product performance and compliance with specifications. Follow all established testing protocols and quality requirements. Print, save, and maintain test records and supporting documentation as required. Record serial numbers, complete production transactions, and accurately document test results. Conduct visual inspections of test adapters, fixtures, and products before and after testing. Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or testing anomalies. Assist with troubleshooting test-related issues and escalate concerns to Engineering or leadership as appropriate. Maintain compliance with quality management system requirements. Obtain and maintain Certified Test Operator status as required. Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members regarding production and testing issues. Support cross-functional manufacturing activities as needed. Perform other duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to follow written work instructions, procedures, and engineering documentation. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards. Ability to recognize and communicate product defects or process issues. Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use manufacturing software and electronic documentation systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently on routine tasks while seeking guidance when needed. Basic electronics and electrical knowledge preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required. One (1) to two (2) years of manufacturing, assembly, testing, or related hands-on experience preferred. Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills required. Experience working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment preferred.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires visual acuity to inspect components and identify defects. Requires manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling small components and test equipment. This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions. HOURS:
Full-time position. Standard work schedule is a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business and production demands.
