Job Description

Job Overview The Quality Inspector Fill In position is designed to prepare employees for advancement into a Quality Inspector role. This individual will train in inspection methods, quality standards, and documentation processes while supporting the Quality Department as needed. The position provides backup coverage for call-offs and future openings. When not performing Quality Inspector responsibilities, the employee will work as an Assembler, Finisher, or other capacities to support production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Train in the inspection of components, subassemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Assist in documenting and reporting inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
  • Learn and apply the basic use of building tools (hammer, screwdriver), but also Quality measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment.
  • Follow company quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Support quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform assembly duties when not needed in Quality, following work instructions, and specifications.
  • Operate production equipment safely and maintain productivity standards.
  • Contribute to meeting both quality and production department objectives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Communicate with the leadership team any quality defects or concerns.
  • Use of Teams chat room for up-to-the-minute feedback of findings to production for immediate attention.
  • Proper use and professional communication etiquette when using radios. Qualifications
  • Prior assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and drawings.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to both Quality and Production roles.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems required, including the ability to use Microsoft software applications (such as Microsoft Teams and other Window-based programs)>
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and navigating standard computer functions.
  • Willingness to attend training classes or coursework as required to further develop computer proficiency and system-related skills.
  • Will be trained on all company systems and applications needed to perform the role.
  • Ability to obtain a tow motor license.
  • Team player who can work well with peers and leadership. Physical/Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to a maximum of 40 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity required for handling small components and precision tools.
  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and moving equipment.
  • This position is intended as a developmental role leading to a full-time Quality Inspector position when openings occur.

Pay:
$17.50 - $20.00 per hour
