We are seeking an experienced Steel Fabricator/Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in structural and/or miscellaneous steel fabrication and be comfortable working independently from shop drawings and blueprints. This position requires strong attention to detail, accurate measuring and layout skills, and the ability to fit and assemble steel components to specifications. We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, works safely, and can contribute to an efficient fabrication shop. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication drawings Lay out, fit, and assemble structural and miscellaneous steel components Measure, mark, cut, drill, grind, and prepare steel for fabrication Fit components accurately according to drawings and specifications Perform tack welding and welding as required Verify dimensions, angles, tolerances, and overall fit prior to final welding Operate common fabrication equipment and power tools safely Identify and correct fabrication or fit-up issues Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality Maintain an organized and safe work area Follow company safety procedures and fabrication standards Work effectively independently Meet production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship Qualifications Previous professional steel fabrication/fitting experience required Strong ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and blueprints Proficient with tape measures and fabrication/layout tools Knowledge of structural steel components and fabrication practices Experience using grinders, saws, drills, torches, and other fabrication equipment Welding experience required Ability to perform accurate layout and fit-up without constant supervision Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Dependable attendance and strong work ethic Ability to safely lift and handle materials associated with steel fabrication Ability to work in a physically demanding fabrication environment Preferred Experience Candidates with experience fabricating any of the following are strongly encouraged to apply: Structural steel Beams and columns Stairs and railings Platforms Frames Custom fabricated steel components You should be proficient in: Blueprint Reading Machines & technologies you'll use: MIG Welder TIG Welder Manual Grinder Flux-Cored Arc Welder Forklifts
