- Assemble new automated valve assemblies, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, etc.
- Be proficient with hand & power tools
- Maintain and organized workspace
- Ensure that all products assembled meet the quality standards in accordance with Company & Customer requirements
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints, procedure manuals, and electrical/pneumatic schematics
- Perform measurements with: dial calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Operate electrical test equipment such as, loop calibrators and digital multimeters
- Apply math skills to verify critical dimensions
- Pressure and leak test valves to National Board and ASME standards
- Complete inspection/process, and quality documentation
- Perform other duties as required Qualifications /
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Willing to work overtime, and weekends as required
- Work in an environment that requires constant pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and other physical activities
- Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hrs a day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
- Lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
- The assembly function requires the abilities to work with material handling equipment, cranes, rigging, tools, and fixtures in a safe, competent and efficient manner
- The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
