Job Title:
1st Shift Assembler Job Description The 1st Shift Assembler uses hand and power tools to build and assemble trailers in a fast-paced, physically demanding manufacturing environment. This role works from written instructions and blueprints to complete high-quality assemblies with no quality errors. New team members begin by rebuilding trailers that have been identified with quality issues before transitioning into full assembly responsibilities. Responsibilities Assemble and rebuild trailers using a variety of hand and power tools. Work from written instructions and blueprints to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently. Perform initial work on trailers identified with quality errors before they leave the yard, ensuring issues are corrected to required standards. Follow all quality standards and procedures to produce error-free work and maintain a high level of craftsmanship. Lift and move materials and components weighing 50+ pounds regularly throughout the shift. Remain on your feet for 10-hour shifts in a physically demanding environment. Use proper tools and equipment safely and correctly throughout all assembly tasks. Follow safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as ear plugs, hard hat, and steel-toe shoes. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support a smooth workflow. Maintain a clean and organized work area within the large manufacturing facility. Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to use hand and power tools, supported by references and specific examples of experience. Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds throughout a 10-hour shift. Ability to remain on your feet and consistently move throughout the shift in a physically demanding role. Ability to follow written instructions accurately. Ability to work safely in a loud, industrial environment while using required protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with large-scale assembly work. Construction experience Experience working from blueprints or detailed written work instructions. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. Reliability and willingness to work overtime when needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a very large manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, so it is cool in the winter and hot in the summer. The environment is loud, and ear plugs are required and provided. The standard 1st shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with typical overtime on Fridays for an additional 8 hours when needed. All employees train on 1st shift during their first week from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM before moving to their designated shift starting in the second week. The role involves 10-hour shifts on your feet in a physically demanding setting, regularly lifting 50+ pounds and moving throughout the day. The dress code includes jeans, a work-appropriate t-shirt, and mandatory steel-toe shoes. A hard hat and ear plugs are provided. Steel-toe shoes are required on the first day; individuals who arrive without them will be sent home and will not be able to start until the following week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oregon, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
