The Stringer Assembler and Installer will help with the assembling and installation of wood and foam stringers into fiberglass hulls.Main Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the "essential functions" for purposes of the ADA.- Prep hull by grinding work surfaces
- Requires frequent bending and stooping to reach the surface
- Assemble and install stringers into hulls using various tools per blueprint
- Applies resin and mat using a chopper gun to bond
- Have the inspector inspect the area that was met and adjust the work area that does not meet the inspection
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Understands and maintains Cruiser's safety and housekeeping standards
- Understands and maintains Cruiser's quality standards and applies proper procedures
- Problem-solving
- Should be able to use tools required for the job (example: Router, grinder, air-powered drill, air-powered driver, roller, hammer, knife, hand saw, screws, air hose, broom, pencil, screwdriver, level, straps, scales, clevises, chains, chop gun, scissors, hoist)
- Flexibility
- Must be able to work at various plants based on need and ability to travel if necessary
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Education and Experience:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment qualifications
- Must be able to read at an 8th-grade level
- On-the-job training
Physical Requirements:
(May be repetitive in nature)- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times, and have the physical ability to meet strength and movement requirements for the position
- Wear required PPE and work in a dusty environment
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods, crawl, walk, carry, squat, kneel, bend/stoop, walk on uneven surfaces, climb, twist at the waist, and reach at/above or below the shoulders
- Lifting (up to 60lbs) and push/pull (up to 60lbs)
- Fine manipulation of one/both hands and be able to grasp with one/both hands
Working Conditions:
- Occasionally works in or around: outdoor weather conditions, mechanical moving parts, and chemical exposure
- Frequently works in or around: high places unprotected, vibration, fumes/gases, toxic chemicals, odors
- Continuously works in or around: dirt/dust
