Description:
Job Description The Assembler uses hand and power tools to build and assemble trailers in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role involves working from detailed blueprints, rebuilding trailers that have been flagged for quality issues, and then transitioning into full assembly work. The position is physically demanding, requires standing and moving throughout 10-hour shifts, and calls for a strong commitment to producing high-quality, error-free work. Responsibilities Use hand and power tools to build and assemble trailers according to detailed blueprints and written instructions. Rebuild and repair trailers that have been identified with quality issues before leaving the yard, ensuring they meet all specifications. Transition from trailer rework into full assembly duties as skills and familiarity with processes increase. Follow all quality standards and procedures to ensure trailers are assembled with no quality errors. Lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more regularly throughout the shift while remaining on your feet for extended periods. Work safely in a busy manufacturing environment, using required personal protective equipment such as ear plugs, hard hat, and steel toe shoes. Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment responsibly. Read and interpret blueprints and written instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous workflow. Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and shift schedules, including overtime as needed. Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency using hand and power tools, supported by references and specific examples of prior experience. Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly throughout the shift and remain in constant motion, verified through references. Capability to stand and work on your feet for 10-hour shifts in a physically demanding role. Ability to follow blueprints and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong focus on quality and pride in producing error-free work. Comfort working in a loud, fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with large assembly work is preferred. Construction experience is a plus. Prior experience working off written instructions and/or blueprints. Willingness to train on first shift from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM during the first week. Reliability in meeting scheduled hours, including overtime opportunities. Ability to work safely while using personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, hard hat, and ear plugs. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a very large manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, which means it is cool in the winters and hot in the summers. The environment is loud, and ear plugs are required and provided. The standard 1st shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with overtime typically available on Fridays for an additional 8 hours. All employees train on first shift (5:30 AM 4:00 PM) during their first week before moving to their designated shift starting in the second week. The dress code includes jeans, a work-appropriate t-shirt, and mandatory steel toe shoes. A hard hat and ear plugs are provided. Steel toe shoes are required on the first day; individuals who arrive without them will be sent home and must delay their start until the following week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Stoughton, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
