Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a Program Manager for our CMO life sciences, molecular diagnostics, and medical device manufacturing client in Carlsbad, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing manufacturing organization supporting innovative diagnostic and life sciences products. Direct Hire | Onsite | $110 - $145K Summary We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee a portfolio of development and cGMP manufacturing programs for domestic and international clients. This position leads cross-functional teams, manages program scope and schedules, monitors milestones and deliverables, and ensures programs are completed on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Lead multiple cross-functional program teams and facilitate internal and client meetings Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, schedules, timelines, and work breakdown structures Oversee program scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and go/no-go decisions Maintain overall program knowledge and ensure execution according to agreed-upon timelines and deliverables Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies Prepare weekly and monthly reports, agendas, meeting minutes, presentations, and status updates Serve as the primary client contact for all program-related communication Present program status, risks, resource needs, and recommendations to executive leadership Identify and escalate unresolved issues, potential obstacles, and resource constraints Communicate and document changes in program scope with clients, internal teams, and Business Development Support change orders, proposals, feasibility studies, and new business opportunities Partner with Business Development to maintain and strengthen client relationships Provide strategic oversight across the assigned client portfolio Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen program delivery, business processes, and profitability Support change management and training initiatives across departments Represent the voice of the client while balancing organizational priorities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, molecular biology, engineering, or another relevant scientific discipline Minimum of three years of program or project management experience, preferably within a life sciences CMO or CDMO environment PMP certification preferred Strong working knowledge of laboratory processes and cGMP manufacturing Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills Experience with MS Project, Jira, or a similar program management platform Experience with MasterControl or another quality management system preferred Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to oversee multiple programs and competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority Strong client service, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills Collaborative, results-oriented, and capable of working independently when needed #D800 •Johnson Service Group (JSG) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
