This position will be responsible for driving production performance, developing strong operational teams, improving manufacturing efficiency, and ensuring the organization consistently meets customer commitments for quality, delivery, cost, and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with a strong background in metal-forming and job-shop operations who can translate business objectives into effective daily execution while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key Areas of Responsibility Manufacturing & Operations Provide leadership across machining, heat treat, metal forging, maintenance, and related manufacturing functions. Establish operational priorities and performance expectations based on customer requirements, production demands, and available resources. Drive improvements in throughput, labor utilization, equipment effectiveness, scheduling, and overall operational efficiency. Ensure production plans support consistent on-time delivery while maintaining required quality and cost objectives. Anticipate workforce requirements and adjust staffing, schedules, and resources to support changing business needs. Manage overtime and operating expenses while maintaining production performance. Leadership & Workforce Development Lead, coach, and develop manufacturing leaders and teams to achieve measurable results. Build an environment centered on accountability, employee engagement, communication, and teamwork. Establish clear expectations and provide regular performance feedback and development opportunities. Address employee relations matters consistently and professionally. Foster a workplace culture where safety, quality, productivity, and customer service are shared priorities. Safety, Quality & Compliance Maintain a strong safety culture focused on prevention, employee awareness, and timely response to hazards and incidents. Ensure manufacturing activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to investigate manufacturing and customer issues and implement effective corrective actions. Support compliance with aerospace quality systems, including
ISO/AS9100
standards . Promote structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis to prevent recurring issues. Capital Projects & Manufacturing Improvement Lead major manufacturing initiatives such as equipment installations, facility modifications, plant layout improvements, and significant repairs. Collaborate with Engineering and other functional groups on manufacturing layouts, capacity planning, new product introduction, and quoting activities. Use operational data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement. Champion Lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Benchmark processes and performance to identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness. What You Bring 10+ years of progressive manufacturing experience , preferably within aerospace or another highly regulated metal-forming manufacturing environment. 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience , ideally within a job-shop or high-mix production environment. Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary manufacturing operations and achieving production, delivery, quality, and cost objectives. Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations involving metal forming, machining, assembly, heat treat, or related processes. Proven ability to develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and achieve results through others. Strong understanding of aerospace quality systems, including
ISO/AS9100
. Experience applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies in a cross-functional environment. Demonstrated ability to improve on-time delivery and overall manufacturing performance. Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, leadership, customers, Engineering, Quality, and other functions. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Management or a related discipline preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR requirements . Fluency in written and spoken English required. Leadership Profile The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with strong operational execution . They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, making decisions based on data and business priorities, and developing leaders who can independently drive results. A strong customer focus, practical manufacturing knowledge, and commitment to continuous improvement are essential.
Pay:
$130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
