Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Production Manager. In this role, you will oversee and direct production activities within our manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include coordinating the production of goods, ensuring that machines are well-maintained and operational, and managing the Production Supervisor along with the production line team. As a Production Manager, you will collaborate with other departments to establish goals for the production team. Additionally, you will be responsible for scheduling routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the production process.
Essential Job Functions:
Train and supervise production employees on job procedures, focusing on enhancing efficiency while prioritizing safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ensure that all products produced during your shift align with the company's quality systems, processes, and procedures. Monitor daily production output to evaluate and optimize established efficiency targets. Accept responsibility for the quality of work performed under your direction and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Actively participate in scheduled safety meetings to review safety performance and promote a safe work environments. Collaborate with maintenance teams on preventative measures to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production. Work with outside staffing agencies to ensure proper scheduling based on production needs. Participate in daily meetings to update management on production requirements and issues, and review daily production reports for accuracy. Reviews daily production reports at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy. Create work schedules that align with production demands. Oversee the supervision of production employees in the manufacturing area, plan and assign work, implement policies, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, and working conditions. Supervise the commencement of the sanitation crew and assist in the proper breakdown of production machinery. Ensure compliance with all safety and health standards to maintain an accident-free environment. Regularly communicate with upper management regarding any issues impacting production. Strive to balance increased productivity with reduced manufacturing costs. Work closely with the Production Assistant/Sanitation Manager to ensure effective daily communication and a seamless flow of production and sanitation processes
Food Safety Responsibilities:
All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor. Monitors and enforces cGMPs within the Sanitation department. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, equivalent or higher 5+ years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing Bilingual (English/Spanish) Ability to work within a food plant environment Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) Strong communication skills Ability to work different shifts
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally carry and/or lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to walk through production areas Exposure to temperature changes Wear proper footwear
