Why This Role Matters A leading and rapidly growing steel fabrication business is looking for a Production Manager to take responsibility for safe, efficient production operations and team performance. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on operational excellence, throughput, efficiency, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You'll lead production teams within a complex fabrication environment while helping improve processes and day-to-day execution. The business offers strong long-term career potential, with opportunities to progress toward Assistant Plant Manager or Plant Manager responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Manage all work performed across assigned production areas and departments. Plan labor and workloads to support efficient execution of the production schedule. Work closely with Production Scheduling to understand requirements and identify operational gaps. Drive operational excellence through 5S and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure teams operate in line with fabrication plans while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. Coach and manage area leads and production teams, supporting performance and development. Support a strong safety culture by addressing unsafe behaviors and ensuring EHS policies and guidelines are followed. Ideal Candidate Profile 5+ years of experience within bridge fabrication, structural steel fabrication, or a comparable complex/heavy industrial manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles and their practical application. Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management. Familiarity with business and financial principles. Well-organized and analytical, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
