Production Manager- Plastics Manufacturing Position Summary The Production Manager oversees daily manufacturing operations in a plastics facility, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to quality standards. This role leads production teams and drives continuous improvement, workforce optimization, equipment utilization, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily production, scheduling, staffing, labor, equipment, and resource allocation. Monitor KPIs including output, OEE, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, quality, and on-time production. Lead plastics processing operations such as injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or thermoforming. Optimize processes, cycle times, material usage, equipment performance, and throughput. Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, technicians, leads, and operators. Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and maintain production flow. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, SOP, OSHA, ISO, FDA/GMP, and customer requirements as applicable. Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and scrap/downtime reduction. Support equipment maintenance, automation, capital projects, and process improvements. Analyze production data, identify gaps, and implement corrective action plans. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in plastics manufacturing. Experience with injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, thermoforming, or related plastics processes. Strong knowledge of plastics processing, equipment, tooling, automation, and manufacturing operations. Proven experience leading supervisors, technicians, and hourly production teams. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, OEE, KPIs, scrap reduction, and downtime reduction. Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred. $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
