Help us build something from the ground up. Lindsay Windows is working toward establishing a new glass manufacturing facility in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area, and we are looking for an experienced Plant Operations Manager to help build and lead the operation. This is a broad operational leadership role—not simply a production management position. The Plant Operations Manager will help establish the facility, build the team, develop processes, and lead day-to-day operations while driving safety, quality, efficiency, customer service, and financial performance . What You'll Do Lead Plant Operations Lead day-to-day plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery Plan and coordinate production, staffing, materials, equipment, and capacity Establish production processes, procedures, and operating standards for the new facility Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuously improve productivity Monitor production performance and use data to identify and address opportunities for improvement Minimize equipment downtime through effective preventative maintenance and planning Identify and resolve root causes of quality issues, downtime, scrap, and remakes Build & Develop the Team Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees as the operation grows Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement Develop employees and future leaders within the operation Provide clear expectations, regular communication, and performance feedback Lead by example and treat all employees with respect and fairness Drive Business Performance Take ownership of the overall operational performance of the facility Monitor labor, material, scrap, overtime, and other operating costs Work toward production, operational, and financial goals established by company leadership Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability Assist with budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and future facility needs Work Across the Business Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Scheduling, and other departments to meet customer commitments Work with suppliers and internal teams to prevent delays and maintain a reliable supply of materials Coordinate the effective use of people, materials, equipment, and time across the operation Communicate plant performance, opportunities, and challenges to company leadership Serve as the primary local operational leader and company representative for the facility What We're Looking For 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience Experience in glass, insulating glass (IG), windows, building products, or a related manufacturing environment preferred Demonstrated success leading people and managing production or operational performance Strong business acumen with an understanding of labor, material costs, productivity, and profitability Experience building and developing teams Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work both on the production floor and at a strategic level Comfortable using data and technology to manage operations and make decisions Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new systems College degree or 5+ years of applicable experience Our Core Values At Lindsay Windows, our values guide how we work and how we treat our customers and each other: Do the Right Thing!
