Sr. Director Operations Summary of Job The Regional Plant Manager will act as a player-coach, both as a direct Plant Manager in their home plant and as a direct leader in their region. He/she will provide charismatic, hands-on leadership for all functions at the site while implementing best-in-class manufacturing via the Pregis Production System (PPS). PPS focuses on operational excellence in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality Management (QMS), Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI), Standard Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliable Product Supply, and Lean Deployment. The successful Plant Manager will be a leader with high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and ability to energize others in line with Pregis Culture and Values to relentlessly deliver on all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The ability to build a team, coach, teach, and develop talent will be a core expectation of the role. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Safety Implement world class safety programs and hold team members accountable to these programs. Ensures plant housekeeping meets established standards. Ensure 5S program is implemented and maintained throughout facility. Ensure OSHA compliance in all facets of the business. People Provide leadership to multiple plants within the region Lead all day-to-day manufacturing activities through engagement with employees and team members at all levels of the organization. Lead adherence to all people management processes, in accordance with HR policies, creating an environment that both attracts and retains hourly and salaried talent. Drive a significant cultural change, from a "that's the way we've always done it" mindset to a true adoption of continuous improvement. Recognize and reward teams and individual employees for successes. Process Fully responsible and accountable for Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost KPIs/Metrics. Continuously increase production output on all assets while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards. Drive world-class operating and materials management practices and create a practical mindset of Lean and continuous improvement across the organization. Understands Plant P&L and main drivers to financial performance. Works with finance, sales, customer service and operations teams to develop and drive programs that achieve and continuously improve financial results. Implement short- and long-term strategies in alignment with business initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to all team members Competencies Exceptional written, verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills including MS Office Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants. Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources). Technical expertise with industry standard equipment. Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Capable of teaching problem solving and leading root cause analysis investigations. Knowledgeable of process improvement principles such as Lean and Six Sigma. Environment Exposure to moving equipment Primarily inside work; outside may be required Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit Humidity may exceed 80% Noise may exceed 85dB+ Physical Characteristics Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75% Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs) Frequent typing/keyboarding/preparing documents Position Type Full time Ability to travel up to 25% Shifts may vary based on demand Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain, required. 10+ years of manufacturing experience, required. 5+ years of plant leadership experience, required. Demonstrated success leading a plant turnaround, required. Experience working within an SAP ERP System, preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English), preferred. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis' total compensation package. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $180,000 and up, depending on experience and skills. Compensation details listed in US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits.
