Company Overview:
A leading manufacturer dedicated to delivering innovative food holding, transporting, and Artisan baking solutions to the foodservice industry. Carter-Hoffmann is an industry expert in food holding and transporting solutions. Carter-Hoffmann manufactures a wide variety of equipment for use in Commercial & Non Commercial Food Service, including chain restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores and independent bakeries.
Position Summary:
The Plant Manager oversees daily production operations, manages staff, ensures safety, ensures product quality, maintains inventory levels and accuracy and optimizes production processes to meet business objectives & timelines. This position will work cross functionally with sales, engineering, finance and customer and technical service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire production process, ensuring efficiency while meeting quality standards, Customer demand deadlines, and budgetary requirements.
  • Lead & manage production supervisors and staff; including hiring, training, developing, and evaluating employee performance.
  • Maintain the Time and Attendance software for schedules of production employees
  • Maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure that products meet performance specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement production schedules that optimize resource allocations and productivity while utilizing lean principles.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to optimize manufacturability of the product lines for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Monitor production budgets and expenses; ensuring that operations remain within financial constraints while maximizing efficiency.
  • Ensure that the Inventory levels are accurate and lead the annual physical inventory.
  • Identify and resolve production-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and increase productivity.
  • Regular & consistent communication to the Leadership Team with regard to production-related timelines and execution.
  • Communicate needs and recommendations for new equipment, space and production workflow needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership for long term planning on capacity and technology needed for future growth.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing facility.
  • Other projects work as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Five plus years of experience in manufacturing or environments, with supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide production staff effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze production processes for continuous improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including team members, suppliers, and upper management. Bilingual strongly recommended
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience in food service equipment or commercial kitchen systems preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferably CSI.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, and welding processes preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed largely in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week but may vary according to special projects, deadlines, or other concerns. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and a variety of postures (bending, stooping, etc.) when handling product while training or investigating technical issues. Salary:
