Job Description
At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. Currently we are looking to add a dynamic Manufacturing Department Manager - Machining and Assembly . We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right" to help support the team. Job Responsibilities Supervise 5-6 hourly employees Coordinate internal and external activities to meet required deadlines Acquire needed raw materials and components manufactured by subcontractors Assemble various mechanical systems with manufactured/purchased subcomponents Oversee manufacture of spare parts to support customer installed OEM equipment Manage Quality System for all mechanical systems and individual components Communicate frequently with the Engineering Department, Sales Department, and Technical Representatives Responsible for department P&L Required Qualifications 5 - 10 years' minimum experience 2 - 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar formal training and equivalent work experience Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience with machining operations and fabrication Strong organizational, project management and time management skills Proficient with MS Office products Experience with Quality Control Ability to use sound technical concepts for problem solving Preferred Qualifications Machine shop management experience beneficial Experience in an ISO Certified environment Hands on machine operations experience a plus Benefits Competitive pay and merit-based increases Comprehensive health, dental, life and vision insurances Career advancement opportunities in a growing company Supportive, team-oriented work environment Paid time off and retirement plan options Production Bonuses and Profit Sharing This challenging and fulfilling position supports the needs of the entire organization.
