Job Description
Position Summary Are you action oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks? Do you enjoy problem solving and collaborative decision making? The Zone Leader has the responsibility of maintaining and improving their production zone at the process level, treating it as their own business while best supporting the entire value stream. They will manage all the direct reports in their assigned production zone. This position reports to the Value Stream Manager. Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- Ensuring Process Discipline through concepts including Standard Work, Training, Coaching
- Recognize and set priorities regarding personnel and production schedules
- Conduct planning, assigning, and directing of daily work
- Perform interviews and hire employees
- Assess employees and conduct performance reviews
- Rewarding and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Responsible for cross-training employees throughout their area
- Foster an environment that builds trust and teamwork through open communication
- Maintaining business documents / records and driving performance around Safety, Quality, Cost, and Execution of the Production Schedule
- Create and promote a culture of Continuous Improvement within Zone
- Help achieve process improvements
- Use Lean tools to run and improve the business and zone strong focus on both internal and external customers Critical Skills & Knowledge

- Quick decision making in response to changing conditions Minimum Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years leading teams in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to collect, interpret, and communicate data. Intermediate Microsoft program (Word, Excel) experience
- Preferred 3-5 years of experience leading improvement teams in a lean environment, experience with metal fabrication, experience in lean transformation
- Preferred technical skills in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Kaizen facilitation, 5S, Total Productive Maintenance, Changeover reduction, Managing for Daily improvement
- Preferred Bachlor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing engineering or related fields Physical Demands
- Normal office environment; Dog friendly; manufacturing and warehouse environment with hot and cold temperatures and exposure to moving equipment.
