Job Description

PSI-Polymer Systems is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations and a small team of approximately 6-8 employees, including manufacturing personnel, Purchasing, and Shipping/Receiving. We manufacture custom machinery for the plastics extrusion industry. This is a working manager position in a small manufacturing environment. The Manufacturing Manager will coordinate daily operations while also working alongside the team and assisting wherever needed. Responsibilities Lead and provide daily direction to a team of approximately 6-8 employees Plan and prioritize manufacturing workload to meet project deadlines Work alongside the shop team and assist with assembly, troubleshooting, and other manufacturing tasks as needed Read and understand blueprints and engineering drawings Oversee Purchasing while allowing the Purchasing Agent to manage normal day-to-day purchasing activities Assist with sourcing and developing new suppliers, negotiating pricing, and handling more complex vendor issues Provide oversight and support to Shipping/Receiving while the Shipping/Receiving Coordinator manages normal daily activities Coordinate with Engineering and Sales on project requirements and schedules Monitor quality, safety, workflow, and shop organization Train, support, and develop employees Qualifications Manufacturing supervisory or management experience Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on manufacturing experience Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings Experience with mechanical assembly, fabrication, machining, welding, or custom equipment manufacturing Strong leadership, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Purchasing or supplier management experience is a plus Comfortable managing a small team while remaining hands-on in daily operations
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Regular overtime, nights, and weekends are not required. This is a great opportunity for an experienced manufacturing leader who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operation without the demands of managing a large production facility.
