About SteelCraft Structures SteelCraft Structures designs, manufactures, and installs high-quality metal structures including carports, garages, commercial buildings, barndominiums, and custom steel components. We are a rapidly growing company focused on quality, efficiency, and long-term customer relationships. Our plant manager plays a critical leadership role in maintaining production efficiency and supporting the continued growth of the company. Position Overview The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all production operations at the SteelCraft manufacturing facility. This role manages plant personnel, coordinates production scheduling, ensures product quality, and maintains efficient workflow from manufacturing through installation preparation. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on leader and operational manager capable of keeping production moving while planning ahead for future projects and company growth. This role works closely with office leadership, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure deadlines are met and customers receive the highest quality products. Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Plant Operations Manage and oversee daily operations of the SteelCraft manufacturing facility Plan, organize, and schedule production to meet project deadlines and lead times Oversee all plant functions including component processing, cleaning, contractors, manufacturing, and maintenance Ensure all manufactured components meet company quality standards Monitor production flow and proactively resolve delays or bottlenecks Assist in streamlining plant processes and improving operational efficiency Team Leadership Manage, train, and evaluate plant personnel Oversee approximately 15-20 plant employees Hire and onboard new staff as production needs require Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety procedures and production standards Maintain a productive and positive work environment Quality Control Ensure all products meet the quality standards set by company leadership Investigate and resolve quality issues when they arise Implement quality control checkpoints within the production process Ensure all plant staff works toward SteelCraft's goal of producing the highest quality metal structures in the industry Inventory & Materials Work with purchasing staff to maintain accurate inventory counts Assist with raw material tracking and specialty items Ensure materials are organized and available for production Installation Coordination Coordinate with the Installation Manager and office team regarding production scheduling Oversee or delegate the loading of materials for installation crews Communicate with installation crews regarding building materials and project readiness Support scheduling and production planning for approximately 18 installation crews Systems & Reporting Maintain accurate production records in company systems Utilize project management and tracking tools to maintain operational transparency Communicate regularly with the VP of Operations regarding plant status, decisions, and planning Systems Used Project management platforms Production tracking systems Google Workspace / Google Sheets Monday.com QualificationsRequired Fluent in English and Spanish 3+ years of management experience Experience supervising 10+ employees Experience managing production schedules or operational workflows Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to manage deadlines, production timelines, and multiple projects simultaneously Familiarity with project management or workflow tracking software Preferred Experience in manufacturing, steel fabrication, construction materials, or similar industries Experience working in a production or plant environment Knowledge of fabrication or manufacturing equipment processes Experience improving operational efficiency or production processes Work Environment Manufacturing facility environment Primarily supervisory role with occasional hands-on assistance Occasional forklift or material handling support when needed Standard work schedule begins at 7:00 AM Schedule Typical hours: 45-50 hours per week Occasional Saturday work as production demands require
