We are seeking an experienced, people-first Plant Manager to lead our facility into its next chapter of growth, efficiency, and cultural excellence. Position Summary The Plant Manager will oversee all daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met. This is not a desk job. We are looking for a visible, highly interactive leader who believes that the true pulse of the plant is found on the manufacturing floor. The ideal candidate will place a heavy emphasis on team building, labor force management, and fostering a collaborative, respectful culture by regularly working alongside and engaging with our frontline team members. Key Responsibilities Labor Management & Team Building Foster a positive, inclusive, and highly communicative workplace culture that promotes morale, retention, and development. Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop a diverse workforce of production, maintenance, and supervisory staff. Implement effective conflict resolution and performance management practices that respect frontline workers and reinforce a team-first mentality. Design and execute workforce training programs that enhance skill sets, promote internal advancement, and improve overall operational versatility. Floor Engagement & Leadership Spend significant time daily on the manufacturing floor, actively interacting with the labor force to understand operational challenges, celebrate successes, and build trust. Act as an accessible leader who maintains an open-door policy, listens to worker feedback, and collaborates on continuous improvement ideas directly from the shop floor. Bridge the gap between plant leadership and floor personnel by communicating company goals transparently and translating them into shared team wins. Operations & Production Management Oversee all daily plant operations, including production scheduling, maintenance, quality control, and shipping/receiving. Champion a safety-first environment, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA standards and actively engaging workers in hazard identification and safety committees. Drive operational efficiency, waste reduction, and productivity while maintaining the highest product quality standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent hands-on leadership experience in heavy manufacturing. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing management, with a proven track record of managing and developing an hourly labor force. Strong background in the wire and cable industry, or a related specialized manufacturing sector, is highly preferred. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with individuals at all levels of the organization, from floor operators to executive leadership. Demonstrated experience in team building, labor relations, and fostering high-engagement work environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) skills.

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
