About the Role As a Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will lead a high-precision CNC production environment, ensuring that complex multi-axis machining projects meet rigorous quality standards. You will be responsible for optimizing shop floor workflows, mentoring technical staff, and driving operational excellence to achieve superior production outcomes. Responsibilities Direct daily production activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management for multi-axis CNC mills and lathes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean methodologies to minimize waste and maximize machine utilization. Oversee the technical development of CNC machinists and programmers to ensure high-quality output and adherence to tight tolerances. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive profitability and operational efficiency across the facility. Coordinate with engineering teams to refine machining processes and ensure seamless production transitions. Enforce strict safety protocols, including LOTO procedures, to maintain a secure and compliant work environment. Manage personnel performance, training initiatives, and staffing requirements to meet project deadlines. Qualifications Required Skills 7+ years of leadership experience within a precision CNC manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency in multi-axis CNC machining, including setup and process optimization. Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T specifications. Strong background in Lean manufacturing and process improvement strategies. Demonstrated success in managing production teams and shop floor operations. Preferred Skills Prior experience as a CNC programmer, machinist, or manufacturing engineer. Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory and production control. Expertise in high-mix, low-volume job shop environments. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Solidworks, or AutoCAD.
