Full-Time Job Description We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead operations at a high-precision CNC manufacturing facility. Our shop specializes in complex multi-axis CNC machining with extremely tight tolerances in a fast-paced job shop environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of CNC machining processes, and proven experience managing production, quality, and personnel in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving operational efficiency, maintaining strict quality standards, and leading a team of machinists, programmers, and production staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily plant operations, including production scheduling, machining, quality, and shipping. Lead and develop teams of CNC machinists and programmers Ensure production meets tight tolerance and high-precision quality requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Manage production planning and workflow for multi-axis CNC lathes and mills. Maintain and enforce safety, quality, and operational standards. Collaborate with engineering and programming teams to optimize machining processes. Monitor KPIs, productivity, and machine utilization. Manage staffing, training, and performance management. Support quoting, cost control, and overall plant profitability. Qualifications 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in a CNC machining environment. Strong knowledge of multi-axis CNC machining (mills and lathes). Experience working with tight tolerances and complex machined components. Proven experience managing production teams and shop operations. Strong understanding of quality control, process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Background as a CNC machinist, programmer, or manufacturing engineer. Experience in job shop or high-mix low-volume manufacturing. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
