Improve the Process. Build What's Next. Day-O-Lite, a U.S. manufacturer of specification-grade architectural lighting, is looking for an experienced Assistant Manufacturing Manager to help lead our manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who has managed people in a manufacturing environment and understands metal fabrication from the shop floor up . We are looking for a leader who can work alongside our Manufacturing Manager to keep production moving, develop employees, solve problems, improve processes, and drive greater accountability throughout the operation. What You'll Do Help lead day-to-day metal fabrication and manufacturing operations Supervise, coach, and hold production employees accountable for performance, quality, safety, and productivity Coordinate production schedules, staffing, materials, equipment, and priorities to meet customer commitments Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, downtime, quality issues, and inefficient workflows Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement Improve shop-floor organization, material flow, production methods, and SOPs Monitor production performance and implement measurable improvements Train and cross-train employees to build a stronger, more flexible manufacturing team Work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory, Quality, and other departments to resolve production issues
What We're Looking For Required:
Previous manufacturing management or supervisory experience Previous experience working in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment Strong understanding of fabrication processes, production workflow, equipment, quality, and safety Demonstrated ability to lead employees and hold teams accountable Experience improving manufacturing processes and productivity Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills A hands-on management style — someone comfortable being on the production floor and involved in the operationPreferred:
5+ years of manufacturing experience Experience with CNC fabrication equipment, press brakes, punch presses, shears, welding, and related sheet metal processes Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous-improvement experience ERP/MRP, inventory control, and production scheduling experience The Person We're Looking For We're not looking for someone who wants to manage production from an office.
