Job Description:
Plant Manager•Rock Hill Huntsman is seeking a Plant Manager•Rock Hill supporting the operations at our Rock Hill, South Carolina facility. This position will report to the appropriate site or business leadership team. Job Scope The Plant Manager is responsible and accountable for the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of the Rock Hill manufacturing facility. This role oversees production, quality, maintenance, environmental, health and safety performance, as well as the development and performance management of site personnel. The Plant Manager drives operational excellence through strategic leadership, continuous improvement initiatives, asset optimization, and sound financial management while ensuring alignment with Huntsman's business objectives. In summary, as the Plant Manager, you will: Lead the safe and environmentally responsible operation of the Rock Hill facility. Ensure compliance with Huntsman standards and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Serve as the site's Ethics and Compliance Officer and promote adherence to Huntsman's Business Conduct Guidelines. Manage site security programs and contractor performance. Develop and manage the site's annual fixed cost budget. Oversee capital projects to ensure they are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Partner with commercial and technical teams to meet production, quality, and business objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, compliance, productivity, and asset utilization. Establish performance objectives for site personnel and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management. Build and lead a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence. Qualifications You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Sciences, Business, or a related technical field. Minimum of 10 years of relevant manufacturing, operations, or industrial leadership experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a formal leadership or management role. Experience managing plant or facility operations, including safety, production, quality, and maintenance functions. Experience managing large operating budgets and financial performance. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. Skills and Knowledge Strong leadership and team development capabilities. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities. Strong performance management and coaching skills. Ability to drive change and lead transformational initiatives. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Commitment to safety, ethics, compliance, and operational excellence. Preferred Qualifications MBA or other advanced business degree. Educational background in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Sciences. Experience in chemical manufacturing or chemical synthesis operations. Continuous Improvement certifications or experience, including Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Experience managing a fixed cost budget exceeding $11 million. Experience working within a global, highly matrixed organization. Demonstrated success leading operational improvement and transformation initiatives. Working Environment Position is based at the Rock Hill, South Carolina manufacturing facility. Work is performed in both office and industrial plant environments. Regular plant floor presence is required to support operations, safety, and workforce engagement. Exposure to manufacturing processes and industrial equipment may occur. Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary when entering production areas. Occasional travel may be required to support business objectives, project activities, or company meetings.
