Galveston, TX Salary - Client can match candidates expectations Its open pay range expectations Position Summary Seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily production operations supporting shipbuilding, vessel construction, and major marine construction programs . This role will oversee multidisciplinary production trades, workforce planning, safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance from fabrication through vessel delivery. Responsibilities Lead and oversee steel fabrication, sub-assembly, block assembly/erection, outfitting, painting, testing, and commissioning activities. Ensure production is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality, regulatory, classification, and customer requirements . Manage production workforce, equipment, facilities, resources, and subcontracted trade labor to meet program requirements. Execute production schedules and provide regular labor, progress, and performance reporting . Partner with Production Planning, Engineering, Procurement/Supply Chain, Quality, HR, and subcontractors to ensure effective production execution and material readiness. Identify production constraints, material shortages, constructability issues, and risks, and develop appropriate solutions. Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, foremen, and craft personnel , including hiring, performance management, and workforce development. Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives involving production methods, facility layout, workforce efficiency, and capital equipment. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, innovation, quality, and operational excellence . Support change-order assessments and provide production input for project and commercial decisions. Maintain strong focus on productivity, schedule performance, cost control, quality, and customer satisfaction . Ideal Candidates Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent education and extensive trade/supervisory experience may be considered. 10+ years of progressive production/operations leadership experience in shipbuilding, vessel construction, heavy industrial construction, offshore fabrication, or marine projects. Demonstrated experience managing large, multidisciplinary production workforces , including welding, fitting, outfitting, electrical, and painting trades. Strong understanding of shipyard production processes, safety, quality, scheduling, and resource management. Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma certification, journeyman-level trade credentials, or advanced technical degree preferred.
Pay:
$100,100.53 - $200,000.00 per year
