Job Description

A leading contract manufacturing company in the greater Winchester, VA area is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large-scale production facility. This role offers the opportunity to oversee a complex operation, drive performance across multiple functional areas, and build a culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a proven manufacturing leader with experience managing large teams, improving plant performance, and delivering results in a fast-paced production environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
Direct overall facility operations, including manufacturing, packaging, engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain activities. Establish operational priorities and drive the execution of production plans to meet customer requirements and business objectives. Lead, coach, and develop a large cross-functional workforce while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and high performance. Champion workplace safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal standards. Oversee quality systems and operational processes to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction. Manage facility budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Partner with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support business growth and service excellence. Utilize data, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions. Drive operational excellence initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Provide leadership updates and business insights to executive leadership regarding plant performance and strategic initiatives.
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related discipline. 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including responsibility for facility-wide operations. Experience leading large (300+) employee populations in a manufacturing environment is required Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, quality systems, food or consumer products regulations, and operational compliance requirements. Demonstrated success driving productivity, cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and culture transformation. Excellent leadership, communication, and team-development skills. Strong business acumen with the ability to make data-driven operational decisions. Experience using ERP systems and manufacturing technologies. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certifications are a plus.
