In this role, you will oversee daily production operations, ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, drive process improvements, and support the development and performance of production employees. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership abilities with hands-on manufacturing experience and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the extrusion team by example and organize staffing and workflow to meet production targets Supervise, instruct, and support employees in daily production activities Troubleshoot production and process-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency Monitor production processes to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance with specifications Ensure compliance with work instructions, production standards, company policies, and safety procedures Ensure all employees receive proper onboarding, operational, and safety training Develop and implement cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and operational continuity Communicate effectively with production employees, maintenance, quality, logistics, and management teams Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout production and surrounding operational areas Oversee product documentation, packaging instructions, quality records, test plans, and control charts Manage hold areas for non-conforming materials and coordinate proper rework procedures Verify accurate completion of production reports, quality documentation, and system entries (E1) Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and material handling procedures are followed Support compliance with environmental regulations, recycling initiatives, and workplace safety standards Assist with employee performance management and disciplinary documentation in coordination with HR Support continuous improvement initiatives and complete special projects assigned by management Comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures of Kömmerling USA Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant manufacturing experience and on-the-job training considered Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience in extrusion, plastics, PVC sheet production, or a related industrial process preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Good verbal, written, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities Mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills required Experience using measuring devices such as thickness gauges, tape measures, and temperature controllers General understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing standards Ability to monitor equipment performance and identify process improvements Ability to determine appropriate tools and equipment required for assigned tasks Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs, lift up to 75 lbs, and torque up to 800 n-m, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders carrying up to 30 lbs, and work at heights up to 20 ft for short periods, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in hot or cold manufacturing environments, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends, evenings, nights, holidays, and overtime as required Schedule Day shift Night shift Overnight shift 12-hour rotating schedule Benefits 401(k) and 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Weekly meal allowance provided by the company Opportunity to contribute to a reputable and growing company Collaborative team environment with growth potential Comprehensive training and support
