This is not a desk-based management position. The Food Production Supervisor will work directly with our production team to prepare and stage ingredients, oversee batching and filling, verify production records, perform quality checks including pH testing, support bench samples and product trials, enforce GMP and sanitation standards, and ensure production runs are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. We are looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the production floor, working alongside employees when needed, and helping build stronger systems, accountability, and consistency throughout the operation. Primary Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily food production activities and employee assignments. Review the production schedule and ensure ingredients, packaging materials, equipment, formulas, and batch records are ready before each production run. Assist with staging and weighing ingredients and work hands-on with the production team when necessary. Oversee batching, mixing, filling, packaging, labeling, and finished-product handling. Perform and document quality-control checks, including pH testing , weights, temperatures, lot information, and other required production specifications. Review batch records and production paperwork for completeness and accuracy. Ensure employees follow cGMPs, sanitation procedures, food-safety requirements, and company SOPs . Maintain lot traceability and accurate production documentation. Assist with bench samples, product trials, and small-scale production testing. Identify production problems, quality concerns, or process deviations and escalate or correct them promptly. Coordinate cleaning, sanitation, equipment setup, and basic maintenance needs. Monitor ingredient and packaging inventory and communicate shortages before they affect production. Train and hold production employees accountable for quality, safety, attendance, housekeeping, and productivity. Help improve production efficiency, workflow, organization, and consistency. Communicate production status, problems, and priorities directly to company ownership. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food processing, or a similar production environment preferred. Previous experience leading or supervising production employees strongly preferred. Working knowledge of GMP/cGMP, HACCP, sanitation, food safety, and production documentation . Experience completing batch records, quality checks, lot tracking, or similar manufacturing documentation. Experience using a calibrated pH meter or performing other food-production quality checks preferred. Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment and assisting with physical production duties when needed. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to identify problems, make decisions, and hold employees accountable. Basic computer skills and ability to learn production/inventory systems. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Better Process Control School / acidified foods training is strongly preferred. Candidates without this training may be required to obtain it after hire.
