to produce complex aerospace parts. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with GD&T standards to ensure precise manufacturing. Oversee tooling selection, setup, and maintenance for CNC machining tools to maximize accuracy and efficiency in metal machining processes. Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance overall quality control through measurement techniques like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and keyence Vision Machine. Ensure that two machines are running simultaneously on a daily basis whenever production workload permits . The department is expected to maintain a minimum machine/labor utilization rate of 140% . Actively plan and coordinate jobs, setups, operators, and machine assignments to maximize multi-machine operation and minimize unnecessary machine downtime. Meeting or exceeding the 140% utilization target will be considered a key performance expectation of the Supervisor position. Identify and address issues that prevent employees from operating multiple machines efficiently, including scheduling, training, tooling, setup, or workflow constraints. Mentor and train team members on CNC programming in engineering contexts, machining best practices, safety protocols, and measurement techniques. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment while managing production schedules effectively. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of CNC lathe experience, including set‑up, operation, and programming. Minimum 2 years of experience in a Leadership role Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in CNC tooling setup, machining tool selection, and machine calibration. Proficiency in programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software; experience with Fanuc and Okuma controls is highly desirable. Skilled in blueprint reading with an emphasis on GD&T standards; capable of interpreting schematics for complex aerospace components. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards.
