POSITION SUMMARY
As the Dietary Supervisor you will direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, governing the facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and Dietitian. You will assure that quality nutritional services are provided to our residents on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. As the Dietary Supervisor, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The position may be classified as salaried exempt and is justified by a program requiring at least 50% of time dedicated to the management of the department and personnel. Education and/or
Experience:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma. Must have, as a minimum, 2-year(s) experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility. Must have training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
Certificates and Licenses:
If you are not a qualified Dietician or Nutrition Professional, then you must: Be a Certified Dietary Manager , Certified Food Service Manager or have a similar national certification from a national certifying body for food service management and safety, or Have an Associate's degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study from an accredited institution includes food service or restaurant management, and Meet State requirements for food service managers or dietary managers in States that have such established requirements.
