Summary:
At Aptiv Interconnect, we inspire the world's most innovative teams by doing the right thing, the right way. We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the production team and ensure operational goals for the business are met.
Leadership & Core Responsibilities:
Supervise the production floor and the positions directly impacting production, such as Assemblers, Assembler Leads and Machinists and communicate and bridge gaps between the floor and supply chain, quality and engineering. Lead the team and provide feedback, discipline, actions as necessary Assist the leads in tracking time and attendance for production floor, and manage schedules Execution of production plans to meet or exceed both the company and their customer's targets. Work closely with all functions of the business such as Stock Room, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Document Control, Testers, Quality, and Leads. Provide guidance and direction for the individuals from these functions assigned to support the floor. Take steps to smooth the flow of steady work to the team and assure maximum productivity Drive accountability for daily performance reporting and problem-solving of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as safety/productivity/quality/delivery/cost/growth/daily blockers (plan, do check, and act) Champion kaizen events with a focus on continuous improvement and productivity initiatives; Support lean initiatives by leading/facilitating kaizen events Direct, hands-on leadership of the floor, enabling or working with the team to overcome daily blockers. Develop relationships and collaborate between departments and sites to fully utilize resources and expertise Communicate status of projects with the Director of Operations proactively Represent the company and the production floor, providing product specific knowledge during customer or other external visits Develop the team to reach their maximum potential and build a highly skilled, highly regarded, and highly motivated team Maintain a fully capable department and react when gaps exist Lead with, and instill, a sense of ownership and accountability Promote and maintain an innovative culture This position requires entrepreneurial spirit in directing a cross-functional team Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, mentoring, and training employees, directing work, and performance appraisal Provides meaningful input and recommendations regarding hiring, firing, disciplinary actions, and promotion decisions, which are given significant weight by management.
Position Requirements:
Education & Technical Qualifications 3-4 years minimum in operations management is required At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role required Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred Computer proficiency with strong excel skills - MS Office and office mgt software Create, update and maintain graphs and charts Must possess excellent filing skills. Must possess excellent, written, and oral skills. Must possess strong and polished interpersonal skills. Must be a "team player". Must be able to independently prioritize workload and reliable
