Job Position:
Bakery Production Supervisor Reports to: General Manager Position Summary / Objective The Bakery Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards are met. This role manages and develops production team members, coordinates workflow, ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Production & Operations / People Management Supervise daily production activities to meet established schedules, goals, and customer requirements. Assign and monitor tasks to production employees, ensuring adherence to work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor equipment and processes to ensure safe and efficient operations. Ensure proper use and care of company equipment, tools, and materials. Coordinate with maintenance and quality departments to resolve equipment or product issues promptly. Create and verify daily Production Schedule based on purchase orders, adjusting as needed to ensure timely completion of fresh and frozen orders. Manage all areas on production floor, ensuring that production schedules are adhered to, volumes are met and both waste and quality standards are always maintained. Review production paperwork daily for accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulatory and company requirements Review daily attendance and staffing levels, adjust labor assignments to meet production demands. Train, mentor, and evaluate production staff on SOPs, GMPs safety and quality procedures. Analyze production data and identify areas for process improvement and waste reduction. Strive to surpass productivity goals for each manufacturing team. Conduct shift huddles to communicate safety updates, production priorities and performance expectations. Provide coaching, feedback, corrective actions and assist in drafting disciplinary documents when required. Conduct training sessions for staff on SOPs, GMPs, safety procedures and quality standards. Oversee facility upkeep, housekeeping, and sanitation compliance to maintain a safe, audit-ready environment. Monitor sanitation needs during and after production, coordinating with sanitation staff to prevent cross-contamination and maintain efficiency. Identify equipment issues during production and issue timely work orders through the maintenance system and follow up to ensure completion. Identify and resolve Issues that arise on a daily basis and implement process improvement in consultation with the Upper Management. Complete and distribute accurate end-of-shift reports, documenting production results, challenges, and corrective actions. Maintain cross-functional communication with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Procurement, and Logistics to align production goals and ensure raw materials/packaging availability. Communicate regularly with management any Issues, concerns or areas for improvement. Verify sufficient raw material and packaging stock prior to production runs. Support and uphold GMP, HACCP, SQF, OSHA, and all company food safety protocols. Ensure all health and safety standards are met with the goal of having an accident / Incident free facility. Willingness and ability to assist in production as required. Other tasks as assigned. Competencies Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Proven record in training employees in production and safety standards. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and food manufacturing safety standards. Ability to make independent decisions under pressure to meet deadlines. Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Supervisory Responsibility This position does have supervisory responsibilities. Reporting position(s) - Receivers, Sanitation, Production Leads, Scalers, Mixers, Bakers, Packers. Work Environment Production Manufacturing Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; stoop, bend and sit. Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a cold, wet, or hot environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring physical activity. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position . Schedule will be based on operational needs and requires flexibility to support first shift, second shift, weekends, and extended hours as production demands require. $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
