Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Assistant Foreman to support daily warehouse production and packaging operations. This role assists with overseeing workflow, supporting employees on the production floor, maintaining equipment, and ensuring food safety and operational standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, works well under pressure, and is comfortable leading by example in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in managing daily warehouse and production operations Support the Foreman with employee supervision and production oversight Help enforce food safety policies, procedures, and operational standards Operate forklifts to move, stage, and store inventory Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on warehouse and production equipment, including: Baggers Boxers Exeter equipment Kwik Locks Washers Other food manufacturing and packaging equipment Inspect, troubleshoot, test, diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment as needed Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Work collaboratively with team members in a high-pressure production environment Assist with additional warehouse or operational duties as needed Qualifications & Skills Knowledge of potato warehouse equipment and production operations preferred Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience preferred Equipment and machine repair experience required Ability to operate computers and portable electronic devices Strong communication skills with both management and team members Supervisory or leadership experience preferred Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Ability to think ahead and proactively address operational needs Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, climb, and lift throughout the shift Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds Schedule & Working Hours This is a full-time position. Employees should expect to work 40+ hours per week. Typical workdays begin at 7:00 AM and end when daily responsibilities are completed. This position requires availability for additional hours as needed, including approximately one Saturday per month, with additional weekend work possible during peak seasons or to support shipping and warehouse operations.
